What strategies do you use to cope with negative feelings?
Whether they are mine or someone else, I try to lessen any negative feeling with something positive. With me, I tell myself I am wonderful, I am enough, or you did a great job today. I write my self little love notes hidden around the house. I have been known to look at my reflection in the mirror, smile and say, “Hello beautiful”.
If it was someone else who was feeling negative, I would smile at them and say hello, how are you? Sometimes they would say they are sad and tell me why. I listen to them. Sometimes I would hold their hand or I would give them a hug, if they’re comfortable with that. It’s all about them.
I feel good about that!
