My Childhood

Describe a phase in life that was difficult to say goodbye to.

My childhood was difficult because I really didn’t have one. There was so much negativity and anger back then, making me grow up in a hurry.

I was the oldest of four children. I was the only girl. I never turned to drink. My three younger brothers turned to the drink. They all died young.

Since I was older, I helped with the cooking, laundry, and taking care of my brothers. My dad was drunk most of the time. My mom was a nurse who worked the night shift at a local nursing home.

My play time was being by myself, but my brothers were constantly interfering. I had no friends until high school when I met my best friend. She changed my life and we still talk to this day.
